We are a PNW couple whose search for our next boat brought us to Ft Lauderdale. Being avid boaters with adventurous spirits, we decided to bring her home on her bottom. Due to an unseasonably stormy cruising season in 2018, we spent five weeks cruising the Bahamas before bringing her back to Ft Lauderdale and shipping her on a freighter. We were happily reunited July 2018 in Victoria BC.

As avid boaters and owners of two waterfront restaurants, Doc’s Marina Grill on Bainbridge Island and in Port Townsend, WA; when cruising we visit waterfront establishments, and with a critical eye look at the menu design and content, the pricing, the dish presentation, the building, what they execute better, and what we can learn and incorporate into our restaurants.

We both grew up in the PNW, and have been around boats all our lives. The first boat we owned together was a 42′ Performance Trawler, which we cruised The Inside Passage every summer as far North as Rivers Inlet, just above Cape Caution. Tessa became an avid fisherperson after we caught the largest salmon in Canada in 2008. For our honeymoon we chartered a boat in Phang Na Bay, Thailand, and we have also chartered in the Whitsundays Australia, Placencia Belize, and French Polynesia. Tessa is a Past Commodore of Swinomish Yacht Club, we are also members of Seattle Yacht Club and we are both licensed captains.
